Bringing back the bar cart!

If you want to get the party started, then roll out a bar cart for your guests! I'll never forget one Halloween when my neighbors who were fairly new to the area, rolled out their cart to their front porch and made instant friends with the entire neighborhood! Bar carts have made a comeback. And, It seems like every retailer is jumping on board...just in time for the holidays. Below are a few of my favorites...new, vintage, DIY...
Vintage bamboo bar cart from Chairish

Sleek metal and glass basic design cart from Williams-Sonoma

Cart from World Market. I love the circular design!

This bar area is from The Pursuit of Style. This is a gold and glass end table
where a tray was added to bottom tier. Love this DIY idea!

What's in store at the Poet?

I've had a few of my customers tell me that my antique booth at the Sleepy Poet is entirely different from my previous spaces at The Blacklion. And, I will definitely agree with that! Quite frankly, it has been a complete change from buying new product to vintage. Finding unique one-of-a-kind antiques has been a little more challenging. I'm always on "the search" for great vintage stuff. Here's a little peek of what's currently going on in my space...

 Drawer repurposed into a shelf

Several pieces of furniture...mostly painted pieces

Another desk drawer that I've painted and papered to repurpose into a shelf

China cabinet from the 1930's painted in ASCP Old White

Hardware bin full of vintage and new knobs that I've saved from my furniture painting days

Velvet in vogue

Have you noticed that velvet upholstered furniture is big again? Yes, the green velvet chairs from the 70s are back with a vengeance. I wasn't a fan during the 70s....probably because I was too young to appreciate design. However, I've had a change of heart with maturity and more design knowledge under my belt. I am loving this luxurious soft fabric especially when paired with certain home décor items. It offers a wonderful contrast to modern art and metallic accessories. Check out some of my favorites velvet furniture pieces below...
