New to Flutterby

A new addition to Flutterby Interiors is this super cute vintage magazine rack table. I decided to paint it a light green color and distressed the heck out of it. I love how it turned out! Come by and check it out...Flutterby is located on Main St. in Rock Hill (across from Amelie's Bakery).

More "new kids on the block".....

Another recent addition to The Brushed Bureau is this small gray distressed bench upholstered with Kelly Wearsler Trellis fabric.

New to the Lion

Below is a white buffet cabinet that I recently added to my space (370) in Blacklion. I am loving the curvy french lines on this piece. The original finish was very rough so I decided to lightly sand, paint and heavy distress for a rustic look. It is currently for sale at The Brushed Bureau!

Now, that Halloween is over, I am done with orange pumpkins! This year's Thanksgiving table will be different in my house. I will be making a trip to the Farmer's Market and buying flowers, veggies and fruit for centerpieces. Here are a few ideas for an unexpected Thanksgiving table setting...

Bachelor's chest named "Alfred"

I think this little Art Deco bachelor's chest is adorable...so charming, that I named it "Alfred". This hand-painted gray piece has a masculine feel but exhibits "prim and proper" vintage elements so I thought the name was appropriate. Alfred is currently for sale at Flutterby Interiors in Rock Hill. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions about Alfred.

Flutterby Interiors reopens

I am glad to report that Flutterby Interiors is re-opening this Monday, October 28. Come check us out! The store in located on the charming historic Main St. in Rock Hill. Humorous Haunting

My posts usually consist of interior decor.... but since Halloween is closely upon us, I decided to post some pretty darn funny exterior decoration ideas from Pinterest! I just could not resist! Happy Haunting!

An oldie but goodie!

I found this 4-drawer chest in an antique store a few months ago and decided that I had to purchase it because of it's size....not too small or large with 4 spacious drawers makes it perfect for a guest or children's bedroom. It has a lot of age on it but in great working shape! I'm guessing this chest is from the 1800s- early 1900s. It is also made of sturdy walnut but I decided to give it a face lift by painting it white and replacing the old wood knobs with glass ones. It is currently for sale in the BlackLion for $375.

I often get asked, "Who's design blog do you enjoy reading?". Well, I have a few favorites like The Lettered Cottage with Layla Palmer. She is now part of a web design network, The Design Network (TDN), which features a couple of fun and talented designers with awesome tips for the home. TDN has a wide variety of designers which includes the sophisticated style of Anne-Marie Burton to the young, fun vibrant style of Leah and Mary on House Trip. I am loving this new design site!

Small scratch sale

While I was moving things around last week, I noticed a couple of small scratches on these tables. I need to make room for "new and fresh" furniture pieces so I have marked them down...tan 2-drawer table (sale: $95) and pink provincial table (sale: $75). Check out pics below:

Just added...

New to Blacklion... this 1940's china cabinet is painted in a tan color and distressed along the edges. The inside of the cabinet is papered with vintage french wallpaper...which really complements the tan! I also decided to keep the original antique brass pulls. For sale ($825) in space #370.
