Finally, a color I love!

Every year Pantone picks a color of the year. I have not been a fan of the past picks...emerald green, bright orange, etc. However, I love the 2014 color...Radiant Orchid! In my opinion, it is the perfect mix of masculine and feminine...although, most men would probably argue that is a little too girly. Below are some of my favorite examples of mixing in the right amount of Radiant Orchid...

a new little frenchie

Just added to Blacklion...this little 3-drawer hand-painted tan french provencial chest. I kept the original hardware this time and lined the drawers with fresh paper. She is ready to go to a new home!

"Dressing" the room

This "Charlotte Today" TV segment was filmed several weeks ago but it is one of my favorites so I thought I would share. Nita Emory, owner and designer at BlackLion created two rooms based on two summer dress outfits. Room #1 is inspired by a cute bohemian dress and Room #2's inspiration is a modern pink and green dress. Check out the link: .

Back to blogging

It has been a whole month since my last post! I took a little vacation to Outer Banks, NC and I have had a difficult time getting back into blogging ever since I came back home to reality. I have several ideas for new posts....brewing since my vacation so I promise to be back on a regular weekly schedule! In the meantime, I wanted to share my "findings" on the beach. We vacationed in Kitty Hawk, NC right after Hurricane Arthur so the coast was filled with these grayish, purple and pink colored scalloped shells. Can't wait to include these into a project!
