Little Gem
I found this "little gem" in a thrift store a couple of weeks ago. It took me a while to "warm up" to this little dresser but when I painted the first coat of white on "her", I really started to see potential! I also decided to replace the original plain wooden knobs with new mercury glass hardware...which I think brightened "her" up a tad. This "little gem" would be perfect dresser for a child's bedroom (smaller drawers) or used as a chest in a bathroom. Come check "her" out in Blacklion (space 370).

Searching for early signs of spring..
If you are searching for signs of spring, It is difficult to find them outside right now. Most of the country seems to be either recovering from a snowstorm or experiencing frigid temps. Personally, I cannot wait for warmer temps, longer daylight hours, flowers and green grass so I decided to stock my retail space with moss balls and spring greenery. If you need a little pick me up from the these winter months, stop by BlackLion and check us out. There are signs of spring everywhere in the store!

Nate's new fabric line.
Check out the latest and greatest from Nate Berkus. He has developed a new line of fabrics which are now available at Calico Corners. What I love about Nate is his versatile style through colors, pattern and material which appeals to the young and old, female and male. I did mourn the disappearance of his TV show but I am happy to see that he has moved on to bigger and better things!

I heart this piece!
New to the BlackLion sales floor...this triple vintage dresser is one of my favorites! A large french piece that I initially painted light blue but decided to go with a light gray color instead. I really love how the blue tones peep out from the gray top coat on the distressed areas. This dresser is very well made...manufacturer by John Stuart with original hardware. Now for sale and ready to go!

Creole thrift
While waiting in the dentist office yesterday, I spotted an article in Redbook Magazine (Feb. 2013) about creating a perfect writing nook created by interior designer Angele Parlange. Love her glamorous style of French Thrift mixed with a bit of fun and whimsy! I am very much looking forward to purchasing her book, Creole Thrift!

Gorgeous..
While flipping through an old issue of Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion, I spotted these photos from Annie Brahler (euro-trash). I love, love, love her style of french antique decorating...so feminine and gorgeous! I love how she re-purposed the antique buffet into a kitchen island...brilliant!
