Eat, sleep, beach and repeat

The east coast is getting hit by a late winter snow storm this weekend. However, I am working on a design for a beach house so I'm sitting at my desk dreaming of sunshine and trying to ignore the yucky weather outside. While constructing a design board for my client, I found a few beachy accessories and ideas that I thought worth sharing. These are the extra little touches that take a typical beach house to unique and interesting level.

Love this idea of using wallpaper patterns on the stairs. It's a peel and stick
so it can be easily removed and replaced. (paper from walls need love)

your dimensions. Perfect for an accent wall or pillows.

Another design tip that I love for a home on the coast is to bring in a darker blue color.

I also suggest using pops of color throughout the house especially on furniture and linens.

Buying vintage pieces from a local thrift store to repurpose as art is also a favorite of

mine. I love it when I see a collection of old bathing suits, straw hats, or maps on a wall. (Town and Country)

I'm always on the hunt for cute cabinet hardware and decorative hooks. These are all coastal themed from Anthropologie....one of my favorite sources for knobs and handles.
